Ried Gabrissen
Smooth and elongated, the Gabrissen site nestles against the Bisamberg. Deep sandy loess, rich in marine artifacts, characterize most of this site. In the centre, the steepest elevation stands as a mighty ice-aged gravel bank. Fist-sized white quartz rises to the surface. Unforgiving barrenness forces the vine roots into the depths and establishes fabulous spiciness and minerality.
